Hi there! My name is Kaye and my pronouns are she/her. I am a Business Coach and the Founder of Vital Beat, Perth's Hip Hop Yoga & Reformer studios. I take 6 years of first hand entrepreneurial experience, plus a suite of business awards, combined with my passion for supporting women in business, to coach them to side step the hustle and grow a business that they not only love, but that loves them right back.
I am a passionate advocate for small business entrepreneurs and in particular, women navigating the unique journey of raising both businesses & babies. I mix mindset work and the practice of compassionate self-enquiry with practical, results-focussed strategies so that my clients can thrive within their own definition of success. I am particularly fond of how the practice of yoga and its philosophies can help us thrive in parenthood and entrepreneurship.
Kaye opened Vital Beat Yoga in winter of 2016, when her first daughter was just 2 years old, having just graduated from her Teacher Training and with precisely zero business experience. She grew it to a thriving community in just 12 short months, designing the business to be self-sufficient so she could go travelling around Australia with her family in 2017.
In 2017 she was a National Finalist in Business Excellence for mothers in business, and
on her return from travels, she set about building a second and larger studio in a new location and opened that in early 2018. In 2019 she fell pregnant with her second daughter, and relocated her first studio to new premises when her baby was 8 weeks old. In 2020 Kaye opened her digital yoga studio offering in response to Covid, as well as launching her own Yoga Teacher Training with a Diversity (BIPOC) scholarship for Yoga Teachers.
In 2020 Kaye won business awards in the category of Health & Wellbeing Business (Gold). She won Silver in Business Excellence, and Silver in Rising Star (<5 years in business). In 2021 she won Best Marketing Campaign, and then went on to become one of the Top 50 Small Business Leaders in Australia, as selected by Inside Small Business, as well as winning Bronze in the Roar National Business Awards.
Kaye has navigated a long & winding mental health journey with Clinical Anxiety, Depression, Panic Disorder, and OCD, as well as birth trauma following the arrival of her second child. She believes in the power of yoga to ground, inspire, and serve us and credits yoga & its teachings as being the single greatest influence on her life (beside her children!).
She is motivated to build connected and loving communities around her studios so that people come together not only for the yoga, but for the experience of connection and belonging too. As an advocate for diversity and social activism, she uses her platform and privilege to change the sometimes toxic paradigm of the wellness industry.
Kaye splits her time between life on the road with her husband and two daughters (and the family dog!) living in a converted bus, and comes back to Perth to work on business development or facilitate studio trainings or staff development. As a self-confessed "sun-chaser", she believes success in business is being able to define your own life on your own terms, and living to work, not working to live. Kaye is a passionate advocate for female entrepreneurs and in particular, women navigating the unique journey of raising both businesses AND babies.
